Aylin Livaneli Became a Professional Musician

Aylin Livaneli is the daughter of O.Z. Livaneli, who is an influential intellectual, an acclaimed author, a film director, a composer, and a politician, as well as the daughter of Ulker Livaneli, the producer of a number of award winning feature films and documentaries which have been internationally successful.

Aylin Livaneli finished high in Paris, France, and then studied English Literature at New York University. She is also a graduate of the London School of Economics, having graduated with a Politics and International Relations degree.

After finishing with school, Aylin Livaneli became a professional musician, recording five albums. She quickly became a pop sensation as a teenager in Turkey, which is one of the largest countries in Europe. During this time, she worked at the family company, a media company called Interfilm, where she labored as an intern, production assistant, and production coordinator. She was the co-producer and co-host of a hit television show called “Coke’n’Roll”, sponsored by Coca Cola. She was an integral part of the Interfilm productions, helping to develop most of them.

Aylin Livaneli eventually quit her music career and began writing entertainment news and reviews for newspapers and magazines in Turkey. She also formed a music label, “Ida Music Ltd”, and helped to found the Film Factory Entertainment Corporation along with the president of Imaj Productions. Lastly, the re-formed the family company, naming it Interfilm Media & Entertainment.
